\"\"<\/a>Auction house, Heritage Auctions<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, had their\u00a0 Natural History & Fine Minerals Signature Auction #6068<\/a> <\/em><\/strong> in New York today and one of the items sold was an actual \u00a0 Tyrannosaurus Rex<\/em> dinosaur. The dino sold for $1,052,500.00, which includes the buyers premium. Buyers premiums for this was auction was 25% for items costing up to $50,000, 20% for items costing between $50,000-$1,000,000, and 12% for items selling voer $1,000,000.<\/p>\n

The fossil, lot #49315, stands an incredible\u00a08 feet high and is 24 feet in length. According to the auction description the body is 75% complete and the skull 80% complete, and the dino is mounted on a “discreet gray-painted armature”.<\/p>\n
