\"\"<\/a>Movie Prop Collectors<\/em> has and will be, following theCaptain America: The First Avenger Auction<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, presented by Marvel Entertainment<\/em> and auction house, Profiles in History<\/em>. The auction is being held Saturday, April 14th at Chicago’s Comic & Entertainment Expo<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (C2E2). As exclusively reported in an interview<\/em><\/a> here last week with Joe Maddalena<\/em> from PIH<\/em>, there are a few surprises <\/em>planned for the auction.

To keep up with what will be happening, I try to read Profiles in History’s<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and Marvel’s<\/em><\/strong><\/a> websites and Facebook and Twitter accounts. I also regularly read a site called Collectors Ransom<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which deals with pre and post sales results as it relates to the collectible & entertainment fields. The site is written & published by Fong Sam<\/em><\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0 general manager<\/em> for Profiles in History<\/em>. As Fong<\/em> is part of the Profiles<\/em> team, he sometimes posts information about Profiles<\/em> that is not available anywhere else.<\/p>\n

On March 20th, Fong<\/em> wrote an interesting article about “auction lead time<\/em>“. Auction lead time<\/em> basically is the time before and leading up to, the date an auction is held. In his article, Fong<\/em> discusses what factors determine when, how, and where information about an auction is released. Such as when catalogs are mailed, media press releases are sent out, interviews are given, etc.<\/p>\n

At the end of the piece, Fong<\/em> wrote, “Profiles will need to pull a few tricks out of its sleeves<\/em>“….. in order to capture and maintain collectors’ attention for the auction. After reading the above comment,<\/em> I called Profiles in History,<\/em> and asked Fong<\/em> if he could share any additional information for Captain America and Marvel<\/em> fans. While Fong said he could not give all the details now, he did share some additional information.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fong<\/em> said during the first week of April, Profiles<\/em> will make a special announcement on their Facebook<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and Twitter<\/em><\/strong><\/a> pages regarding The Captain America Auction<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. Fong<\/em> added that Profiles<\/em> and Marvel<\/em> will be doing something to reward fans who attend C2E2<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. They also know there will be many fans unable to attend, so there will be something for those fans too.<\/div>\n
