Steve Szkotak<\/em> from The Associated Press<\/em><\/strong><\/a> has reported that Guernsey’s Auction’s<\/em><\/strong><\/a> in New York will auction what is considered the largest collection of items from the ill fated luxury liner, Titanic<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which sunk April 15th, 1912.<\/p>\n

The collection of over 5,500 items are planned to be sold as a single lot on April 1st, 2012,which will be the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the vessel.<\/p>\n

The items were obtained from various excavations over many years and many of them have never been seen in public.<\/p>\n

More than 5,500 artifacts including china, ship fittings and portions of the hull that were recovered from the ocean liner were appraised in 2007 to be worth $189 million, according to the Titanic’s<\/em> court-approved salvage company, Premier Exhibitions\u00a0 Inc.<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which is the parent company of RMS Titanic Inc<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
