<\/a>According to the numbers on the Julien’s Live<\/em><\/strong><\/a> website, the total for their December 17th auction entitled, 100 North Carolwood Drive<\/em><\/strong><\/a> realized $760,630.70 including varying buyers premiums or BP of 25%-28%. Most media outlets have reported that the auction realized “close to one million<\/em><\/strong><\/a>“or “one million<\/a>” <\/em><\/strong>dollars, though the total from Julien’s Live<\/em><\/strong><\/a> shows otherwise.<\/p>\nSince December 18th, Movie Prop Collectors<\/em> has waited for Julien’s Auctions <\/em>to post the hammer results for the auction which was held December 17th. As of December 28th, only the prices with buyers premium or BP have been posted on Julien’s Live, <\/em>and not Julien’s <\/em>regular web site.<\/em> The BP varies depending on method of purchase, with 25% BP added for items priced $0-$49,999, items selling for $50,000 and higher (not relevant in this auction as no lots went over $50,000) add a 20% BP. Those who bid online are charged an additional 3% BP, with the total being a high of 28% BP added to the sold<\/em> price of an item.<\/p>\n Previous Julien’s<\/em> auction totals are published on Julien’s website<\/a><\/em><\/strong> which include only the auction prices with BP added. The actual hammer prices do not appear. Being that the BP varies between 20% and 28% one cannot accurately determine the hammer prices of lots sold. Therefore, I emailed Hillary Ripps<\/em> of Julien’s<\/em>, to see if she could provide the actual hammer prices before the BP was added for the\u00a0auction.<\/p>\n The auction was dubbed, “The Michael Jackson Auction<\/em>” in many media outlets in that the items included in the auction were the contents of the home Mr. Jackson<\/em> rented, not owned, before his untimely passing.<\/p>\n After Darren Julien<\/em> announced Julien’s Auctions would be auctioning off the headboard<\/em><\/a><\/strong> of the bed Mr. Jackson<\/em> passed away in,\u00a0media and fans reacted<\/em><\/a><\/strong>. Mr. Jackson’s<\/em> family stepped in and requested the item be removed and according to a Spin.com<\/em><\/a><\/strong> article entitled, “Awful Auction Pulls Micheal Jackson’s Deathbed From the Block<\/a><\/strong>“, the item was indeed removed.<\/p>\n The website Hollyscoop<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, reported that the rug, Lot #534<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, that paramedics placed Mr. Jackson’s body on to try to resuscitate him, was still auctioned for the price of $15,360 including BP.<\/p>\n
