<\/a>One of the many amazing pieces of history being auctioned by premier auction house, Profiles in History<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, this December (15th,16th,&17th), is Marilyn Monroe’s Joe DiMaggio<\/strong><\/a><\/em> baguette diamond wedding ring.<\/p>\nThe ring was given to Marilyn<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by her husband to be, Joe DiMaggio<\/em> when they were married, January 14, 1954.<\/p>\n Here is some special additional information Movie Prop Collectors<\/em><\/strong><\/a> acquired about the ring.<\/p>\n The diamond weight of the ring is just under 3.5 carats <\/em><\/strong><\/span>of 34 baguette diamonds all the way around the band. It was custom made for Marilyn in size 5.5<\/strong><\/em><\/span>. The platinum “eternity” band originally comprised of 35 baguette diamonds, but one was lost during the time it was in storage before Christie’s<\/em><\/strong><\/a> auctioned it in 1999.<\/p>\n Due to the custom nature of the ring, the colorless, baguette diamonds vary in size and are of VS1 quality and better. The ring is estimated at $300,000 to $500,000, and the interest on it is strong, as it as part of Marilyn Monroe’s<\/em> and Joe DiMaggio’s<\/em> history together.<\/p>\n On December 3rd, Profiles in History<\/em> will present the second part to their Debbie Reynolds Collection Auction<\/em><\/strong><\/a> which will feature 4 of Marilyn’s<\/em> original costumes from some of her famous film roles.<\/p>\n*All photos \u00a9 Profiles in History<\/em>, FOX, Movie Prop Collectors, and their respective owners.<\/h6>\n
