\nCompany\u2019s heritage as the family entertainment that has delighted and
\ncaptivated audiences for decades. Disney opens a new chapter in that level of
\ncommitment at the D23 Expo on Friday, August 19, 2011 in the Anaheim Convention
\nCenter Main Hall. A special announcement will be part of a storytelling event
\nfeaturing two of America\u2019s
\nbest-known and most popular writers, Dave
\nBarry and Ridley Pearson, and David Arquette, star of Disney Junior’s #1
\nseries, “<\/em>Jake and the Never
\nLand Pirates.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\nPublishing Worldwide authors Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson have enthralled
\nreaders since 2004 with their re-imagining of Peter Pan\u2019s adventures, \u201c<\/em>Peter and the Starcatchers,\u201d <\/em>\u00a0the best-selling and
\naward-winning prequel trilogy. Visitors are invited to hear from the authors,
\nlisten to a family reading event led by Disney Junior\u2019s \u201cJake and
\nthe Never Land Pirates\u201d star David Arquette, participate in the big
\nannouncement and receive a free book. <\/span><\/p>\n
\nwe help support creativity and imagination, an important part of our

\nD23 Expo while at the same time encouraging visitors to take part in our daily

\nyear\u2019s D23 Disney Corporate Citizenship pavilion, <\/span>visitors will see how they can
\ntake action through Disney Friends for Change, an initiative that helps inspire
\nkids and families to join together and make a positive impact on their world.
\nVisitors can participate as an \u201chonorary\u201d Disney VoluntEAR in a
\ndifferent community service project each day, including preparing child comfort
\nkits for kids in need, assembling care packages for military families \u00a0and
\nplanting seedlings for the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
\ncan also become \u201chonorary\u201d D23 Green Team members by taking part in
\na scavenger hunt that will lead them through the Expo in a quest to boost their
\nenvironmental I.Q. Not only will they find out what Disney is doing to help
\nprotect the planet for future generations, they\u2019ll be in the running for
\nprizes and a fun Friends for Change photo as well! <\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Admission includes access to all experiences and entertainment at the <\/span>D23 EXPO <\/span><\/strong>and can be purchased for single days or
\nfor the full three days of festivities. Admission is $47 for a one-day adult
\nticket and $37 for children 3-12. Three-day passes are $136 for adults and $106
\nfor children. Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will receive a discount
\nfor up to four admissions, as well as early entry to each day of the <\/span>D23 EXPO <\/span><\/strong>for themselves and their guests.<\/span><\/p>\n
