\"\"<\/a>Recently\u00a0I returned from\u00a0one of my trips to California<\/em> to cover some fun and\u00a0interesting\u00a0subjects for readers.<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of my trip was a special tour of the really cool effects house,\u00a0KNB EFX <\/a><\/em><\/strong>which\u00a0specializes in creating characters, creatures, prosthetics, animatronics, and special effects for some your favorite films and television\u00a0shows.<\/p>\n

I had the good fortune to meet two of the founders of KNB<\/em>, Greg Nicotero<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and Howard Berger<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>who took time out from their busy scheduals to share a few things with Movie Prop Collectors<\/em><\/strong><\/a> readers.<\/p>\n

KNB EFX Group Inc<\/em>.\u00a0was started in 1988 by Robert K<\/span><\/strong>urtzman<\/em>,\u00a0Greg N<\/span><\/strong>icotero <\/em>&\u00a0\u00a0Howard B<\/strong><\/span>erger<\/em>,\u00a0which formed the letters KNB<\/em><\/strong> that artists and\u00a0film fans know so well.<\/p>\n

Since 1988, KNB<\/em> has\u00a0worked on various\u00a0films and television shows including Tales from the Darkside: The Movie<\/em>, Misery<\/em>, Army of Darkness<\/em>, The X files<\/em>, Casino<\/em>, From Dusk Till Dawn<\/em>, Scream<\/em>, The Cel<\/em>, Dune<\/em>,\u00a0Spy Kids<\/em>,\u00a0and others.<\/p>\n

In 2002, Robert\u00a0Kurtzman <\/em>left the group, and both Greg\u00a0Nicotero <\/em>and Howard Berger <\/em>continued the tradition of innovation and quality they started in 1988. Since then, KNB<\/em> has worked on Kill Bill<\/em>, the Deadwood<\/em> series, the Masters of Horror <\/em>series,\u00a0Serenity<\/em>, Hostel<\/em>, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe<\/a>,\u00a0The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian<\/em>, Inglourious Basterds<\/em>, Drag Me to Hell<\/em>,\u00a0Transformers: Revenge of the Fa<\/em>llen, The Pacific<\/em>, Predators<\/em>, and the\u00a0television series, The Walking Dead<\/em>…..just to\u00a0name a few ;).<\/p>\n

KNB<\/em> has\u00a0won multiple awards for their work, including the British version of the Academy Award<\/em>, the\u00a0BAFTA<\/em>, and an Academy Award<\/em>, for their work on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion,\u00a0The Witch and the Wardrobe<\/em>, as well as\u00a0Emmy’s<\/em> for Dune<\/em>, and\u00a0The Pacific<\/em>.<\/p>\n

I spent part of the day with Howard Berger<\/em>, Greg Nicotero<\/em>, and their fellow artisans, who\u00a0took time from their busy day to share a few special\u00a0things with Movie Prop Collectors<\/em> readers.<\/p>\n

There was so much to see,\u00a0hear, and learn that I am\u00a0making this a two or three part article.<\/p>\n
