The famous house where Don Corleone, Academy Award winning actor, Marlon Brando\u00a0did his “family business” in the 1972\u00a0hit The Godfather<\/strong><\/em>, can be yours for a cool $2.9 million dollars. The home listed\u00a0for sale this past December, received some press recently when The Today Show<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>visted and shot some video, which you will find below.<\/p>\n

The Godfather\u00a0(1972) <\/strong><\/em>was <\/strong><\/em>directed by Academy Award<\/em> winning director\/writer Francis Ford Coppola<\/strong><\/em><\/a>,\u00a0was based\u00a0on\u00a0<\/strong>the Academy Award<\/em> winning writer\u00a0Mario Puzo<\/strong><\/em><\/a>‘s\u00a0novel of the same name.<\/p>\n

Mario Puzo<\/em>\u00a0won the Academy Award<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for his writing the screen play for both The Godfather<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>(also wrote the novel), and The Godfather Part 2<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The owners of the home only agreed to the use of their home for the film\u00a0after\u00a0the producers promised them a new roof as part of the deal.<\/p>\n

A few artifacts from filming are included in the purchase.<\/p>\n

Part\u00a0of the “stone”\u00a0wall surrounding the property which was not a real wall, but\u00a0was a\u00a0thin metal sheet painted to look like stone, was saved by the homes owner as well as Marlon Brandos<\/em> cue cards used in his scenes. (Marlon Brando did not memorize lines in many of his films and used cue cards).<\/p>\n
