The home listed\u00a0for sale this past December, received some press recently when <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>The Today Show<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>visted and shot some video, which you will find below.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Godfather\u00a0(1972) <\/strong><\/em>was<em><strong> <\/strong><\/em>directed by <em>Academy Award<\/em> winning director\/writer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zoetrope.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>Francis Ford Coppola<\/strong><\/em><\/a>,\u00a0was based\u00a0on<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the <em>Academy Award<\/em> winning writer\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariopuzo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>Mario Puzo<\/strong><\/em><\/a>&#8216;s\u00a0novel of the same name.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mario Puzo<\/em>\u00a0won the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oscars.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Academy Award<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for his writing the screen play for both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegodfather.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>The Godfather<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>(also wrote the novel), and <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegodfather.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Godfather Part 2<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The owners of the home only agreed to the use of their home for the film\u00a0after\u00a0the producers promised them a new roof as part of the deal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 240px;\"><object id=\"msnbc64177f\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"420\" height=\"245\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"FlashVars\" value=\"launch=41170666&amp;width=420&amp;height=245\" \/><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/32545640\" \/><param name=\"name\" value=\"msnbc64177f\" \/><param name=\"flashvars\" value=\"launch=41170666&amp;width=420&amp;height=245\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed id=\"msnbc64177f\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"420\" height=\"245\" src=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/32545640\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" flashvars=\"launch=41170666&amp;width=420&amp;height=245\" wmode=\"transparent\" name=\"msnbc64177f\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>A few artifacts from filming are included in the purchase.<\/p>\n<p>Part\u00a0of the &#8220;stone&#8221;\u00a0wall surrounding the property which was not a real wall, but\u00a0was a\u00a0thin metal sheet painted to look like stone, was saved by the homes owner as well as <em>Marlon Brandos<\/em> cue cards used in his scenes.
