We\u00a0attended the Disney D23<\/strong><\/em> 1st anniversary event for Walt Disney’s D23<\/strong><\/em> club on Wednesday, March 10 and it was a huge success!<\/p>\n

The event was slated to begin at @930pm, but fans started arriving much earlier at 7pm.\u00a0Many fans arrived to the park during the day and stayed until the evenings festivities.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Check in for the party was smooth and quick, with friendly cast members giving each guest their wristbands and envelope with a *welcome letter and a special letter with some exciting announcements for this and next year for D23 members!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In attendance\u00a0were many\u00a0Disney luminaries as, Bob Gurr<\/span>, Tony Baxter<\/span>, Kevin Corcoran<\/span>, Bill Farmer<\/span>, Margaret Kelly<\/span>, Dave Smith<\/span>, actor Dan Roebuck<\/span>, David Stollery<\/span>, Denny Newell<\/span>, Becky Kline<\/span>,\u00a0 Steven Clark<\/span>, and more.<\/p>\n

All of the gracious guests\u00a0were readily available and easily accessible to all of the D23 members\u00a0in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.\u00a0 All of the guests answered questions, posed for pictures, and told stories of their experiences with Walt\u00a0Disney and the Disney company.<\/p>\n

D23<\/strong><\/em> and Disney’s<\/strong><\/em> fans want access to behind the scenes information with up close and personal intertactions with the artists, actors, and creators of all things Disney<\/strong><\/em>, and this event delivered.<\/p>\n

D23<\/strong><\/em> members all had smiles on their faces from meeting the guests, riding their favorite attractions, and enjoying the delicious and\u00a0mutliple\u00a0deserts and special treats\u00a0throughout the park.<\/p>\n

There were also\u00a0characters who happily posed with fans and signed their autographs, including Cinderella<\/em>, The Three Little Pigs<\/em>, a few Bears<\/em> \ud83d\ude09 ,\u00a0Alice in Wonderland<\/em>, The Mad Hatter<\/em>, Maleficent<\/em>, and many many more.<\/p>\n

Members\u00a0had photo\u00a0access\u00a0 to Walts\u00a0\u00a0\u201cElectric Runaround\u201d vehicle which was used to\u00a0\u00a0escort VIPs throughout Disneyland<\/strong><\/em>. Cinderella and her coach were there\u00a0for everyone to say hello to and posed for photos too.<\/p>\n

At the end of the evening guests were given a special treat. This D23 1st Anniversary pin:<\/span><\/p>\n

The next D23 Expo<\/strong><\/em> will be held\u00a0at the Anaheim convention center\u00a0August 19-21 2011, along with a new inaugural convention called Destination D Disneyland 55<\/em><\/strong>, which takes place at the <\/strong>Disneyland<\/strong> Grand Ballroom<\/em> on September 24-25.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

Destination D<\/strong><\/em> will take D23 <\/strong>members on a journey through the design, creation, debut, and magical history of Disneyland<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The D23<\/strong><\/em> team is in the midst of developing exclusive programming for DESTINATION D<\/strong><\/em> – but an early peek at plans reveals a host of special speakers, presentations and panels throughout the two-day event, including:<\/p>\n

— “Disneyland: The Way We Were” – Disney’s Chief Archivist Dave Smith
\nwill look back at highlights from Disneyland history;
\n— “Disney Undiscovered” – An exploration of never-built projects and
\nattractions developed for Disneyland;
\n— “23 on 55” – The Walt Disney Archives celebrates Disneyland’s 55th
\nanniversary;
\n— “Weird Disney” – A showcase for some of the quirky, little-known
\nfacts, places, people and ideas that even the most avid fan might not
\nknow.<\/p>\n

If last years original D23\u00a0Disney Expo<\/em> event was any indication, then\u00a0this years Destination D Disneyland55<\/em>, and next years second D23\u00a0Disney Expo<\/em> will be even more amazing.<\/p>\n
