As a special treat for <\/strong><\/em>MoviePropCollectors<\/strong><\/em><\/a> readers and members, here is a sneak peak at some special news courtesy of Joe Maddalena<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, CEO and President of auction house\u00a0Profiles in History<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday November 6th<\/sup> at 6pm PDT Profiles in History<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>will be having a special auction at The Globe Theatre at Universal Studios<\/strong><\/em><\/a> to benefit VARIETY-The Children\u2019s Charity of Southern California<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. Various Studios have donated items from Tron,<\/em> G.I. Joe, Twilight<\/em>, Transformers 2, Coraline <\/em>and The Chronicles of Narnia<\/em> to this auction.\u00a0 In addition, Profiles<\/strong><\/em> is joining forces with <\/strong><\/em>Michael J. Fox\u2019s Team Fox<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>to raise funds to aid in Parkinson\u2019s research.\u00a0 Back to the Future<\/em><\/strong><\/a> creator Bob Gale<\/strong><\/em><\/a> has donated items from his personal collection to the auction.<\/p>\n

The auction continues with some great items from SyFy\u2019s<\/em><\/strong><\/a> Warehouse 13, Eureka<\/em> and Caprica, <\/em>as well as a wonderful offering of original props and set pieces from Stargate SG-1.<\/em><\/p>\n

The auction concludes with more amazing\u00a0items including: \u00a0 A hero K.I.T.T. car from Knight Rider<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, an original Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory<\/em><\/strong> <\/a>(1971), one the highest CGC graded unrestored copies of Superman Comics #1 known to exist, original 1943 Bob Kane \u201cBatman\u201d comic strip art, an animatronic \u2018Daffy\u2019 puppet from Gremlins 2<\/a><\/strong>,<\/em> original Eyvind Earle art from <\/a><\/strong>Sleeping Beauty<\/a><\/strong>, <\/em>original production animation cels from The Beatles\u2019 Yellow Submarine<\/a><\/strong>, <\/em>and a Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>poster signed by six principle cast members, to name just a few of the 152 items being sold.<\/p>\n

On October 14th, 2010, NBC\/Universal’s<\/a> publicity department sent Movie Prop Collectors<\/strong><\/em> <\/a> an advance rough copy today\u00a0of the first two episodes of <\/strong>Joe Maddalena’s<\/strong><\/em> <\/a> new\u00a0SyFy Channel<\/span><\/strong><\/em> <\/a> reality\u00a0show, Hollywood Treasure<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Hollywood Treasure<\/span> <\/strong><\/em>is a weekly documentary-reality series that\u00a0explores the intricate world of collecting iconic Hollywood props, costumes and memorabilia.<\/p>\n

Focusing on\u00a0science fiction, horror\u00a0and fantasy props and costumes\u00a0 the series follows host, Joe Maddalena, Brian Chanes, Jonathan Mankuta, TracyMcCall, and the team<\/em><\/a> from Profiles in History<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em>, the world’s largest auctioneer of original movie, television and pop culture collectibles.<\/p>\n

After\u00a0previewing the show, I could\u00a0sense how much Joe Maddalena<\/em> and his crew actually care about what\u00a0they do, and I truly appreciate it.\u00a0\u00a0This show is a postive thing for the preservation and enjoyment of Hollywood history, and will also\u00a0have a significant impact on the entertaiment memorabilia field.<\/p>\n

My advice is to tune in for the premier Wed, October 27th at 10pm eastern<\/strong><\/em><\/span> and see for yourself \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
