Christie’s Auctions sells Roger Moore James Bond Rolex: 180,000 CHF

 

 

James Bond’s specially adapted Rolex wristwatch used by Roger Moore in the 1973 film, “Live and Let Die“, sold November 14th at Christie’s in Geneva Switzerland for 180,000 CHF(219,000CHF with buyers premium), Swiss Franc/CHF, or $196,056,000 US dollars. Though 20,000 CHF below the 200,000~400,000 CHF estimate, the watch generated interest with both movie prop collectors and watch enthusiasts alike.

News sources are reporting slight discrepancies in the amount the watch sold for ($198,000 & $194,700, without buyers premium) due to currency exchange fluctuations. I called Christie’s today and received their numbers for what the watch sold for.
