On December 14, 2012, Sotheby’s auctioned a piano played in the Humphrey Bogart/Ingrid Bergman, film, Casablanca for $500,000. Factoring Sotheby's buyers premium, the total paid for the instrument was $602,500. I just arrived home from one of my visits to California for magazine ideas and articles. While out there, I attended Profiles in History's Lights, Camera, Romance, The Hollywood Auction #53. There was bidding in person, on the phone, and on the internet. Online bidding was handled by Artfact. The University of Chicago Admissions Department has posted the following on their Tumblr account.
