Today, Academy Award winning (for the 1985 film, Cocoon) artist, illustrator, and conceptual designer, Ralph McQuarrie passed away at the age of 82 in his home located in Berkeley California. At 8 a.m. Pacific and 11 a.m. Eastern, admission badges for San Diego's 2012 Comic Con went on sale and four day passes were sold out within minutes. Not longer after, single day admission passes were gone too.
