Profiles in History Hollywood Auction 53 hammers $3.2 million

 

PIHGortI just arrived home from one of my visits to California for magazine ideas and articles. While out there, I attended Profiles in History’s Lights, Camera, Romance, The Hollywood Auction #53. There was bidding in person, on the phone, and on the internet. Online bidding was handled by Artfact.

The auctioned hammered $3,200,00 million dollars and totaled $3,907,050 with the bp factored in.

Highlights included:

Lot #69: Collection of (36) Jean Harlow 8 x 10 original camera negatives. Est: $4,000-$6,000. Sold for $10,000.

Lot #160: Collection of (6) black-and-white original camera negatives of Marilyn Monroe by John Florea. Est: $200-$300. Sold for $7,500.

Lot #222: Huge vintage French King Kong poster. Est: $20,000-$30,000. Sold for $20,000.
