Senator Betsy Johnson part of “Hats Off for Breast Health” auction

 

 

Oregon State Senator, Betsy Johnson, will be launching a series of events featuring over 300 hats which will be auctioned to benefit the “Tillamook Breast Health Coalition” a program of the non profit, “The Rinehart Clinic” which is located in in the north Tillamook County coastal town of Wheeler, Oregon.

The Rinehart Clinic was created in 1996 by Dr. Harry H. Reinhart, whose family of physicians have cared for three generations of north Tillamook County residents.

The Tillamook Breast Health Coalition program raises awareness for breast health awareness and assists breast cancer patients when in need.

The hats were donated by Imie Camelli , Jane Griffith, & Betsy Johnson.

On January 7th, from 12 noon unitl 3pm, the vintage hats, including some Hollywood themed from Betsy Johnson’s family, and Imie Camelli, include Julia Roberts hat from the horse racing scene in “Pretty Woman“,  Larry Hagmans‘  Stetson Fedora, many others, will be shown at the kickoff event for the auction. The auction will be a phone in bidding process and will take place from January 7th until March 31st.

Winning bids announced at a special closing event on March 31st.

The clinic will also hold various events in January, February, and March, including a fashion show & tea at ArtSpace (503)377-2782, on Feb. 18, another fashion show and auction in Portland on March 10, (part of the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Issues Conference), and a dinner, which will further showcase the hats being auctioned as well as raise awareness for the clinic.
