Steve Szkotak from The Associated Press has reported that Guernsey's Auction's in New York will auction what is considered the largest collection of items from the ill fated luxury liner, Titanic, which sunk April 15th, 1912. According to the numbers on the Julien's Live website, the total for their December 17th auction entitled, 100 North Carolwood Drive realized $760,630.70 including varying buyers premiums or BP of 25%-28%. Orson Welles' Academy Award won for writing the classic, "Citizen Kane" was sold to an undisclosed buyer yesterday for $861,542 at Nate D. Saunders Auctions. The Oscar© was given to Welles and co-writer Herman J. Mankiewicz, for best screenplay of their 1941, film, "Citizen Kane". Auction house, Profiles in History, "Icons of Hollywood" auction was held a few days ago, December 15th and 16th in Beverly Hills, CA. The auction totals for each of Juliens's Auctions "Icons and Idols" auctions are not posted on Julien's web site, (individual lot prices with premium are), but according to Julien's Facebook account, both auctions together totaled over $4 million dollars.
