Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre “Hollywood Legends Collection” exhibit

 

 

 

The famed Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA is holding a special exhibit of Hollywood memorabilia starting tomorrow, September 30th.

The “Hollywood Legends Collection”, exhibit will feature almost 1,000 rare and well known costumes and props from some of the most iconic films ever created.

Highlights of the exhibit include:

Judy Garland’s blue and white dress she wore as Dorothy in MGM’s 1932 classic, “The Wizard of Oz“.

Marilyn Monroe’s gold pleated dress used to promote “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes“(FOX, 1953)

Vivian Leighs‘ green drapery gown from “Gone with The Wind” (Warner Brothers, 1939).

Rita Hayworth’s black satin gown from “Gilda“.

Props on display include one of the pairs (approximately 5-6 were created) of the tablets used in the Charlton Heston film, “The Ten Commandments” (Paramount, 1956), and Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry and headpieces from “Cleopatra” (FOX, 1963).

The exhibit is open during normal theater hours and is free for movie ticket holders and included as part of the theaters VIP TOUR.

Movie ticket prices are $12.75 for adults, $9 for seniors & children.[$13.50 for 3D films]). VIP Tour guests ( 30 min tour of the theater and in depth information of the exhibit) cost $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors, & $8.50 for children.

According to the management of The Chinese Theatre, the exhibit will be rotating, with new items added after November 15th.
