Profiles in History to auction Wizard of Oz Ruby slippers in December

Premier auction house, Profiles in History, are going to auction an original, screen used pair of Dorothy’s  Ruby Slippers worn by Judy Garland in the MGM classic, The Wizard of Oz.

Debbie Reynolds Arabian test pair slippers sold this past June for  $612,000 at Profiles in History Debbie Reynolds Auction.

The shoes are near mint condition and are marked “#7 Judy Garland” on the inside of the shoes. The soles are painted red, with light round scuffs on the soles. This pair is believed to be the same shoes Judy was wearing in the close-up shots where she clicked her heels together to return home. The shoes are also thought to be the same pair on the witches feet peeking out from under Dorothy’s house early in the film.

The estimate for the shoes are $2 to $3 million dollars.

Profiles Hollywood Memorabilia Auction #45 is taking place Dec. 15, 16, &  17.
