Auction house, Heritage Auctions, will be holding auction #7085, “The Personal Property of John Wayne Signature Auction” in Los Angeles, CA October 6th and 7th.
Featured in this vast auction are both professional and personal property of Academy Award winning actor, John Wayne.
Fans will have the opportunity to bid on such items as Mr. Wayne’s Golden Globe award for Best Actor for his role in “True Grit”, costumes from his movies Sands of Iwo Jima and The Green Berets, movie scripts and personal items including John Wayne’s cowboy boots and cowboy hats, personal correspondence with U.S. Presidents and Hollywood stars his driver’s license, etc.
Auction catalogs are for sale at $50 for a softcover version, and $125 for a library limited edition hardcover signed by John Wayne’s son, Ethan Wayne.
Also for sale is a behind the scenes DVD documentary featuring John Wayne sons, Ethan & Patrick Wayne. The DVD featured the sons memories of their father as well as many of the rare, one of a kind items in the auction. The price of the DVD is $19.95. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the library edition catalogs and all profits from the sale of the DVD, benefit The John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
