Orlando’s Mega Con was a hit !

Movie Prop Collectors just got back from the sold out (Saturday), and almost sold out Sunday), Megacon with  friends this past weekend. We had a great time meeting the many artists, actors, actresses, writers, and others involved in art, comic books, anime, sci~fi, feature films, and television shows.

There were many different panels, parties, meet and greets with the conventions guests, fans in costumes, and more at the show.

Guest of honor for Megacon was Marvel Comics’ Stan Lee who was available for photo shoots and autograph sessions with fans, as well as Q&A panels.

At a Q&A panel with fans Stan was asked about the death of the Human Torch and Lee said “I don’t think comic characters ever die real deaths. They die for awhile and the next clever writer comes along and finds a way to revive them.”

When asked about working with Kevin Smith & Jason Lee on Mallrats Lee said, “It was difficult. I had so much to teach them. I had to teach Kevin Smith to be uninhibited…to say what he thinks…you know…to come out of his shell.”

On Lee’s inspiration for creating Spiderman, Lee said, “Wouldn’t it be groovy to have a superhero who could crawl around on the wall like a fly?”

A fan asked Lee who his favorite characters are, and Lee said, “Yeah me!”

Fans also got to meet, Star Trek’s Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, Cindy Morgan, (Caddyshack, the original Tron, and more), Bruce Boxleitner (The original Tron, Babylon 5, and other films).

Tron and Caddyshack actress Cindy Morgan with fan & friend Charles, who is also a Movie Prop Collectors forum member

I was able to speak with many of the guests at the convention, including actor James Hampton,(F Troop, Love American Style, the Doris Day Show, Gunsmoke, The China Syndrome, The Longest Yard), actress Cindy Morgan, ( Tron, Caddyshack), and actor John Schneider, (The Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville), and many others.
