“First Look: Review of SyFy’s Hollywood Treasure premiering 10/27”

NBC/Universal’s publicity department sent Movie Prop Collectors an advance rough copy today of the first two episodes of Joe Maddalena’s new SyFy Channel reality show, Hollywood Treasure.

Hollywood Treasure is a weekly documentary-reality series that explores the intricate world of collecting iconic Hollywood props, costumes and memorabilia.

Focusing on science fiction, horror and fantasy props and costumes  the series follows host, Joe Maddalena, Brian Chanes, Jonathan Mankuta, TracyMcCall, and the team from Profiles in History, the world’s largest auctioneer of original movie, television and pop culture collectibles.

The premier episodes I viewed today look amazing.

Fast paced, exciting and full of surprises, Hollywood Treasure is original and has something for everyone.

Watching Joe and his team discover iconic props, costumes, and artifacts had me wanting to see more to find out what would happen next. Auctioneer, Stacey Roman was also fun to watch during the exciting auction clips.

The show is perfect for the SyFy family as many of the iconic items discovered are from the Sci Fi, Horror, and Fantasy genre. I believe it will be a hit with viewers.

After previewing the show, I could sense how much Joe Maddalena and his crew actually care about what they do, and I truly appreciate it.  This show is a postive thing for the preservation and enjoyment of Hollywood history, and will also have a significant impact on the entertaiment memorabilia field.

My advice is to tune in for the premier Wed, October 27th at 10pm eastern and see for yourself 🙂

P.S.

On Saturday November 6th a charity auction is being held by Profiles in History at The Globe Theatre at Universal Studios to benefit VARIETY-The Children’s Charity of Southern California. Various Studios have donated items from Tron, G.I. Joe, Twilight, Transformers 2, Coraline and The Chronicles of Narnia, Back to the Future, and more to this auction.

Profiles is joining forces with Michael J. Fox’s Team Fox to raise funds to aid in Parkinson’s research.  Back to the Future creator Bob Gale, has donated items from his personal collection to the auction as well. There will also be items featured from Hollywood Treasure. They will be filming for upcoming episodes at the auction.
