Film discussion series,  musical tributes, and gallery tours add to Hollywood costume exhibit.

The James A. Michener Art Museum located in Doylestown, P.A. is presenting, Icons of Costume: Hollywood’s Golden Era and Beyond between April 17 through September 5, 2010. *

The exhibit presents over 50 selected items from extensive collections of movie memorabilia.

Marlene Dietrich’s black velvet evening dress from Shanghai Express (1932) above, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s black leather jacket from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), are a small sample of what will be featured. There will also be rare publicity stills, lobby cards, and film props, as well. The museum will host musical tributes, tours of the museum, and more. An interactive “Screen Test” area will allow the public to act out their favorite scenes from films and then have the option to download them on the museum’s You Tube channel.
