This is the place for dealers to introduce themselves to our members.
Members can also ask dealers questions, and let dealers know what they are looking for, or looking to consign.

Who is a good dealer to buy Trek and Sci-Fi stuff?

Props Store of London comes to mind. They have had some mighty nice items in the past.
I think they have a website.

Are, you not watching the weekly ITS A WRAP sales that end every Friday on eBay?
They, are awash in some fantastic pieces!
Also, as some long awaited pieces are starting to show up, I see items bought only in the last few months, by collectors getting resold, with some at a loss. I assume, they are trying to raise quick cash to get those more elusive pieces or they bought on impulse and then got the credit card bill!

I heard about those auctions. Some guys say they are selling junk and others say they have gotten some good things. They seem to have an endless amount of stuff, so it makes you wonder, did they sell the good stuff, or just not get to it yet?
What do you think Rick ?

From, the fellas that are really, really into it, they say that it is paced, and that better pieces are yet to come.
I love TOS, a sign of my age, so, for me, there is nothing. But, I did like TNG and DS9, and each Friday, a few very recognizable pieces jump right out at me.
I think, for me, I would still like to pick up a piece before it ends, from a favorite episode, and there have been a couple to tempt me, but they also ended up selling for a great deal of money. KIRK and SPOCK, from the films, have done well into the teens. Too, rich for my blood, and Jerry has not offered me his checkbook! :(
Go, with what you like, from a favorite character and you can't go wrong. Resales in the future - not a factor. You're right, there is way too much of it.
For help, other than here, I would recommend Alec's Blog. I, am not a member, but, I hear nothing but good things about it, from all levels of collectors, who care about ST.

I think the original "Star Trek" is the best also Rick and I am young, as I am sure you really are ;).
I saw "Star Trek" during re runs when I was a kid and loved it. Original, cool effects (for the time), aliens, hot women, and always had a moral.

Most people didn't realize this but an Iconic Alien costume from the Classic Trek series WAS sold by It's A Wrap about a month ago (Kind Of) , It was up for a few days as a background costume for an alien race from ST Voyager, then somebody told IAW about their mistake and they took it off, I'm sure we will see it again sometime soon, but this time unfortunattely with a price 4 or 5 times higher than it would've been. It was in terrible shape though looking at the picture.

There was a big debate on the trek forum as to contact them or not with about a 50% 50% share, I would not have told them myself as I may be enjoying it in my bedroom right now! :D
Gonna be interesting to see what they do with it.
They may keep it to the last week, It's A Wrap have told a few people now that the last week will be.. quote "unbelievable"
Doesn't seem like good business sense to me but not a lot they do does
When that will be is the question nobody knows. Guessing at least 6 months more.
Jason.

Hello everyone. My name's Allen and I've worked off and on for the past several years for a company called The Golden Closet. We've been in the entertainment memorabilia business for nearly thirteen years and have acquired and have bought, sold, and consigned a vast assortment of screen used motion picture and television props and wardrobe in that time.
I'd like to think I've learned a few things along the way and welcome any questions from other members that might benefit from my experience, but I'm also here to learn and talk with other members and keep up on what's of interest to fellow collectors.
I'm a huge movie fan and really enjoy the things I've been seeing here. Feel free to contact me here or visit our website listed below to check out some of our collection.
